Moments at the Mill: Devotional Thoughts from Greg Clark
When the Bridge is Falling.

Never before have the twin cities been so united.  Minneapolis and St. Paul are no longer connected by I-35, but they are connected in heart.  Interviews with survivors have touched our hearts as well.  Many were thanking God they made it out alive; others grieve over their unexpected loss and perhaps wonder why God did not spare their loved one.

It may be today that your world is collapsing.  Not from a broken bridge, but from broken relationships and a broken life.  At first it was just a rumble.  Now it is a sinking feeling.  Where and when will it end?  You may be wondering if God is aware of the situation.

When Jesus Christ walked this earth, He was surrounded by a broken world.  Marriages were falling apart.  Kids were rebellious toward parents.  Disease was prevalent.  The poor were oppressed.  Religious systems were full of deceit and hypocrisy.

Jesus felt what you feel.

His answer to the crushing weight of hopelessness was, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

You and I cannot depend upon the proper functioning of every connecting bridge in our life.  But we can depend upon Jesus.  Trust Him.  He can make the needed repairs.
