Good Message from Santa
 Christmas
has become an odd mixture of both the religious and
secular. For some people it is a time for Santa,
Frosty, and Rudolf. For others, it is a deeply
spiritual time as they reflect upon the reality of God
sending His one and only Son to this earth. Most of us
weave back and forth between the two. Our nativity
scene sits on the same shelf with Santa and his
reindeer.
But even Santa comes from a religious
background. Saint Nicholas lived during the fourth
century and was known for his love for the poor and his
kindness toward children. Through the years, his legend
has grown but his basic message has remained the same -
give.
He gained this characteristic by
imitating Jesus who said, “It is more blessed to give
than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Enjoy gift giving this
Christmas. It’s a good message from Santa. It’s a good
principle for life from Jesus.
