Transitions
Writing
in the early part of the 18th century, poet
Joseph Addison wrote, “There is not any present moment
that is unconnected with some future one. The life of
every man is a continued chain of incidents, each link
of which hangs upon the former.”
Presenting the reality of constant
change, each day provides an opportunity for a
transition to a better life. Living in the past offers
no hope and worrying about the future is fruitless.
Only by enjoying the present can we truly appreciate
where we’ve been and the possibilities of where we can
go.
Today is a vital part of your journey.
It is a transition from your past into your tomorrow
where God has already arrived. Reflecting upon his
life, Solomon wrote, “There is an appointed time for
everything. And there is a time for every event under
heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Embrace the transitions of
your life. They are inevitable.
